The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has created unthinkable challenges for families, parents, children, business owners, and most importantly, our front line health care workers. During the last several months we have been forced to develop a new normal in order to keep those around us safe, from wearing masks, to social distancing. Many athletic programs closed their doors, some of which remain unopened. Schools shut down, parents had to work from home, while also becoming homeschool teachers. As a swimming program, our team has worked tirelessly to establish a set of standards and protocols that would allows us to safely begin working with our athletes again. Physical activity is a fundamental part of development, and it is important that we continue to find ways to keep our children active, even during a pandemic.

The benefits of joining a sports team are endless. From dedication, to perseverance, to making friends, and staying healthy. During the post-covid era, many of these teams, particularly close contact sports, have had to stop completely. For a swim team, we have been lucky enough to create a path forward, involving staggered meeting times, virtual meets, and social distancing throughout the entire practice. Age group level to National level athletes have been able to get back in the water, return to doing what they love, while still keeping themselves and those around them safe. As the summer months come to an end, it is going to be even more important for kids to find ways to stay active.

SOLO Aquatics is a year-round competitive swim and dive team offering high-quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to international competitor. We have recently opened a new branch, SOLO- North Shore, located in Danvers, MA, and our coaching staff maintains a strict COVID-19 protocol that protects both our athletes and staff.
